Love: The Blues

Alex kicks off this triumphant return to the podcast with an episode that was recorded before the hiatus even started, and he’s talking Blues Music in it. He gives a brief history and characterization of the Mother of All Music genres, complete with a recommendation for one of its finest new artists (seriously, y’all, listen to Christone “Kingfish” Ingram). Andy meanewhile doesn’t make too many Blues Brothers references and does his best to answer how you know Blues when you hear it.

Hate: Greg Land

Andy takes his Hate time to point out one of the biggest douchebags working in comics today, plagiarist/artist Greg Land. He and Alex discuss Land’s many instances of tracing sports mags and pornography, his largely uncreative style even when trying to be original, and his oldest and newest bouts of straight stealing from other artists. Also, they’re a little bit nice to Rob Liefeld on this one.

Relationship: Leslie Knope

This episode’s Relationships.txt question comes from someone looking for help dealing with his partner’s depressive need to consume and spend money they don’t have on Bionicle stuff following some COVID depression. Alex reminds him that it’s shitty to couch these matters in terms of attractiveness, Andy recs hard talk about reassessing home life, and nobody does a very good job of explaining what a Bionicle is.
